We invite student organizations to participate in our FREE Engaging Victors Conference, a three-part workshop to develop the skills and tools needed to effectively raise funds. The SP team will facilitate workshops focused on 1) defining the goals of your fundraising initiative and 2) designing a fundraising action plan for how to achieve these goals. You will be expected to attend one of the in-person sessions on October 13th or October 14th, participate in a self-paced Canvas course, and attend one office hour with the SP team. To complete the conference, you will have invested about 10 hours.
What will I do? The conference is composed of three parts; participation in each portion of the conference is required.
A three-hour in-person session hosted on October 13 or October 14 from 6-9 PM. You only need to attend one of these in-person sessions.
A series of useful fundraising-focused Canvas modules. You should anticipate spending about 90 minutes completing this section. This module will be available for you to reference all year.
Attending one or more 30 minute office hour sessions with the Student Philanthropy team to receive individual consulting.
What will I learn? By participating in the conference you will:
Learn how to define actionable goals for your fundraising initiative
Identify who you should be asking to support your cause
Turn your organization’s "what we do" into a compelling ask for support
Receive social promotion of your organization’s activities/story
Receive access to free consulting time to help with your organization’s efforts
For SSOs – access more advanced training for the Giving Tuesday and Giving Blueday websites
For VSOs – access a toolkit to hold a crowdfunding campaign
Please note we recommend a minimum of 2 attendees and a maximum of 4 from your organization, as there will be portions of the conference that will be more engaging with multiple members. Forward this email to additional members from your organization so that each attendee can RSVP, even if you are from the same org.
